Development of Applied Studies Department in the University of Bahrain

The National University of Bahrain is recognized by the word due to its advanced course curricula and research works. An Acquired educational scheme is confront in the Arab Peninsula from very beginning. The Kingdom of Bahrain has the biggest public education organization among all the Arabian countries. It assumed that the educational system for public students was established in 1932 in Bahrain.  This country has developed its educational facilities by refining the subject by including new knowledge and information.

The National University of Bahrain is the largest university in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The university has a glorious story of its growth. In 1960, an educational institution for boy's study was made. Afterward, another girl’s educational institute was made. The Amiri of Bahrain melded these two institutes and settled a college. At 1968, a different college, named the Gulf College was launched. At last, these two colleges were fused to form The Golf polytechnic College of Bahrain. These two colleges were autonomous and provided B.Sc. degrees in various subjects. At present, the university is modernized and recognized by the world. The faculty of Applied Studies was founded on February 5th, 2005 fitting to a decision attained by the National University Of Bahrain Board Of regents in its 11th official meeting with a acquit vision of developing very well trained and highly qualified graduates at the affiliate Diploma level for the topical and for  the Gulf labor markets. Presently, there are about a thousand registered students in the college and a sum of 50 university's academic stuffs (42 Master degree and 8 PhD holders), and 12 Bachelor grade holders acting as Demonstrators with five Computer Technicians.

The faculty of Applied Studies proposes programs that intent to bridging the interruption between the National University of Bahrain and the labor market by providing affiliate diploma degrees in specialties that bring out highly qualified and very well trained graduates that are desperately necessary for the Gulf markets as well as the kingdom of Bahrain. To attain this, the study designs for divers programs deal both the theoretical studies and the practical training that is applied through the exercise of a sum of 34 specialized as well as general computer labs. More dedicated and specialized labs are to be made as well in the future. Additionally, the University of Bahrain also provides the scholars of the faculty of Applied Studies the possibility of continuing their learning at the Bachelor degree level.
