How Business Administration College of the University of Bahrain has enhanced the economy of The Kingdom of Bahrain

The roots of advanced education in the Kingdom of Bahrain dated back to 1968 with the establishment of the Gulf Technical Institute. The roots of education in Business Management also started its journey from that time. Now, it is a glorious faculty of the National University of Bahrain. Actually, the department of Business Administration and management was established in 1981 with in the newly reformed Gulf polytechnic Institute. A mandate was given to the department by the trustees of the university to upgrade the text curriculum to fulfill the mounting necessity of the rapidly growing business community. At 1982, after the year of establishment of the faculty, a complete plan was installed with credit hour based educational program, which reflect a single-track, two-layer philosophy. The philosophy was intended to link students with the actual labor demand in business market demand. The department of Business Administration offers an integrated diploma and Bachelor degree in business, accounting and marketing.

The course curriculum of this faculty undergoes through regular refinement. The most important objective to design this program is to reflect an international standards and strict to the needs of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Scholarship is available to help the meritorious students to continue their studies in business administration. Students can choose either AAD (accounting course) or ABD (Business administration track). The diploma is offered after successful completion of sixty eight AAD and seventy ABD credits. After completion of two semesters if the students can do brilliant result, they allowed to read further two semesters to complete their Bachelor degree. Ineligible students have to complete another semester off sixty eight credits and get a CSD (Commercial Studies Diploma).

The vision of this National University of Bahrain is to achieve the leading position in higher studies in business field in Bahrain. Business rules the economy of a country. So, it is important to handle the changed business situation with the outer world. It is possible when students will able to understand the actual situation of the business and to capable of generating unique business plans through judicious manipulation of available resources of the country. After completing studies, students are serving the Bahrain community through dispersing managerial awareness in business organizations and applying their business knowledge in the field of Marketing, Accounting and Management. The National University of Bahrain has a glorious history. The university has contributed to develop the higher educational system in the kingdom. Now, it is recognized as the largest university of Bahrain.
