The Australian Embassy—A Place to Acquire Information on the Country

Because the world is made up of many different countries and all of them are inter dependent on trade, business and tourism, diplomatic offices are needed in each country to define and explain what is needed for this interaction in their country. Australia is no different, and there are many Australian embassies throughout the world. The Australian embassy is there to help people seeking trade, legal or tourist information. It assists both Australian nationals and those who are not, but who seek some type of relationship with the country.
Tourist

Australia is a beautiful country and a major tourist attraction for many people, but although English is the spoken language here, it is still a foreign country and as such requires foreigners to follow certain regulations, laws and have certain permits to visit. Everyone considering a trip to Australia should first consider a visit to their local Australian embassy.
Employees at the embassy will help you with all the tourist documentation you may need to enter the country. This documentation usually differs depending on the country you are visiting from. Australia is a very large country so you may be able to access more detailed information on the different areas from the Australian embassy.
Trade
When considering an import/export business that deals directly with an industry or business located in Australia, it may be a good idea to visit the nearest Australian Embassy, as they can orient you towards the regulations needed for products entering or leaving Australia. Although, they won’t be able to do any of the importing or exporting for you, they can orient you to the correct trade offices.
Nationals
As an Australian, you should always check with the Australian embassy located in the country you are visiting or residing in. The embassy has branches for all national documentation you need or can orient you towards the correct office. So, if you lose your passport or birth certificate you should first contact your Australian Embassy to get information on the procedure you need to follow to replace these items.
Location
In some situations the Australian embassy may be located far from your current residence. But most are accessible by phone or by mail. There are more than 150 Australian embassies around the world, as well as other High Commissions and consulates. In most countries the Australian embassy is located in a large metropolitan area and most office in the country’s capital city.
When in Doubt
The Australian Embassy is always available to Australian citizens who are either travelling or living abroad. They offer advice and assistance in all aspects relating to citizenship or trade with the country. The Embassy offers notarial services such as witnessing of signatures and true copies of documents which are sometimes required by foreign governments. Australians who need to renew their passports while in the foreign country must also direct their questions and applications to the nearest Embassy.
All the personnel  at any Australian embassy will be happy to help you with any questions you have in regards to Australia. If they cannot answer your question then they can direct you to the appropriate offices where you can find the information you need.
