The Australian Embassy—A Must Visit

An Embassy can be the most important government office you ever visit, especially if you are outside your own country. A country’s embassy is the portal in any foreign country to your own country, or the first place to find information on any destination. So when visiting Australia, or  as an Australian living or visiting abroad, the first place you want to visit is the Australian Embassy in the country you reside or are in.
As the Australian Embassy of any country is aware of all the political events in that area of the world, they are better able to inform Australian nationals of any precautions or information they should have. The embassy is also aware of trade and educational agreements between the two nations so they are also the best place to become informed when trying to negotiate business or when trying to investigate the proper student requirements for Australia.
The more than 150 different Australian Embassies around the world are a vital tool to both nationals and foreigners in any country. It is here that the information and application process begins.
Trade
Australia conducts trade with many different countries, but trade agreements vary. So,  before entering into a business transaction with an Australian company you should first consult with the Australian Embassy to make sure your industry fits in with the trade agreements for that country. They will also inform you of the next step you need to take in the import or export process of the good you want to work with.
Nationals
For Australian nationals the Australian Embassy is of greqat importance. You must know where it is located and keep in contact when necessary. It is the Embassy that can help you when you lose, misplace or have your Australian passport or vital records stolen. The embassy is the portal to your country and you are always welcome. Other services the embassy has, include notary services and document authorization services.  Whenever you are in a foreign country and experience any legal issue or are a victim of theft, you should first contact the Australian embassy to find out what procedures you should follow.
Although there is not an Australian embassy in every major city, there is at least one in most countries. This may be far away from your location, but the Embassy is familiar with the laws in the country you are in, so they can advise you as to your rights and your next step.
In conclusion, the Australian Embassy is a source of important information for any country you visit. As a national you should always contact them first. As a would be visitor, business person or student you should also contact your local Australian Embassy to find out more about the country and the requirements you must fulfill before entering the country. If they cannot help you directly, they can certainly orient you towards the entity that can.
