Australian Embassy is There To Help

When you need information on Australia or help getting vital records from the country the best place to start your search is the Australian Embassy. Whether you are Australian born or looking for information on the country, you may want to call or visit  the local Embassy.
Currently, there are over 150 Australian Embassies around the world. These are usually located in the Federal capital of the country. Because in most cases the embassy may be quite a distance from your location, your best option is to call them to get the information you need.
For Nationals
The Australian Embassy is always available to any Australian national and offers official notary services as well as authenticated documents.  Under certain circumstances a country may ask you for authenticated vital records and that is when you would want to contact your nearest embassy.  Another reason you may need the Embassy’s services are in a case of a lost passport.  At that moment you should call your nearest Australian Embassy to apply for a replacement, otherwise, you may not be able to leave the country you are currently in.
Students
People wishing to study in Australia may also wish to contact their nearest Australian Embassy. The over the phone representative will inform you of the necessary documentation and application process in obtaining a student visa to enter the coutry.
Business
People who are in business and considering a trade relationship with a partnering company in Australia should also contact the Australian Embassy. Here you will find detailed information on products that can enter or leave the country. Although the embassy may not have complete details as to import/export duties for any particular product, they can put you into contact with the appropriate authorities and customs brokers.
Through the Australian embassy you can also find information on trade, foreign relations, environment, government, indigenous people, economy, culture and more. In most cases , personnel will direct you to the appropriate department or to  websites that will give you the information you are looking for.
Visitors
If you simply plan on visiting Australia as a tourist you may also want to contact your local Australian Embassy. They can direct you toward the tourist bureau and give you information on important attractions. But more importantly, they will inform you of needed documents, protective measures you should take when traveling and prohibitive products you should refrain from taking or from purchasing while in Australia.
Location
Because countries are large, you may not have an Australian Embassy in the same city you live in. It may even be several hours away from your location. But you can contact embassy personnel over the phone and use mail and courier services to transport needed documentation. The personnel at the embassy is available throughout the week, except on either Australian or the location’s legal holidays. If calling on a holiday you may get a recording and will simply need to call back during working hours on another day.
